OpenText Specialist

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Starting in Downtown LA and moving to Monterey Park in Q4)

Role Overview
We are seeking an OpenText Specialist with a strong developer background to support and enhance our enterprise document management platform. This role is a balanced 50% development / 50% production support position, supporting business users while also building custom interfaces and reports.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience supporting OpenText Content Management (formerly Content Server)
  • Ability to:
    • Monitor and analyze system logs
    • Troubleshoot issues and submit support tickets to OpenText
  • Hands-on experience configuring:
    • Security and permissions
    • Workspaces
    • WebReports
  • Experience building custom WebReports and user-facing pages
  • Solid web development background with the ability to build and support custom web interfaces:
    • HTML
    • JavaScript
  • Comfortable acting as a technical representative on business calls


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • jQuery and Bootstrap (strong preference)
  • Basic knowledge of AppWorks and how to support it
  • Familiarity with AWS (basic level), especially for hosted enterprise applications


Role Expectations
  • Approximately 50% development / 50% support
  • Development includes:
    • Custom WebReports
    • Custom pages and UI enhancements
  • Support includes:
    • System monitoring and troubleshooting
    • Business support and vendor coordination
  • Work primarily on OpenText document management projects using WebReports to create custom user interfaces
 

Key Responsibilities

Platform Support & Operations
  • Support OpenText Content Server / Content Management
  • Monitor and analyze system logs
  • Troubleshoot issues and submit tickets to OpenText Support
  • Configure and support:
    • Security models and permissions
    • Workspaces
    • WebReports
  • Provide production support and incident resolution
Development & Customization
  • Build and maintain custom WebReports, dashboards, and user-facing pages
  • Develop custom interfaces for document management workflows
  • Apply standard web development techniques for UI customization
  • Support OpenText projects involving document-centric applications
Business & Project Engagement
  • Represent the technical team in meetings with business stakeholders
  • Communicate progress, risks, and timelines clearly
