A normal day:
We normally start our day with a meeting with all of the SCP teams at the end client (its usually a big call). We talk about release schedules and management and then dive into newly created bugs for the whole team to consider. We then have a team standup (just us) to discuss what work is in the queue, who wants to work on what and how things are going. Our standups helps us identify blockers, answer questions about priorities, make requests for help, and share news.

We’re looking for a self-driven, hands-on GCP Cloud Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the GCP infrastructure that powers our client’s data platform. For this role, you should be experienced with maintaining IaC-like product code. You’ll work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Security, and Product teams to design, build, and maintain GCP services, enabling scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions.
If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, have a DevOps mindset, and love working with modern cloud-native technologies, we want to hear from you!
Google Cloud Engineer Requirements:
- Strong expertise with Terraform for GCP infrastructure as code.
- Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD, GitOps, automation, monitoring.
- Comfortable working with Docker, Linux, and basic networking concepts (VPC, firewalls, peering).
- Solid understanding of GCP services
- You’ve shipped real infrastructure in GCP and know how to balance speed, cost, and stability.
- Terraform isn’t just a tool—you write clean, reusable modules and maintain IaC like product code.
- You're someone who sees security and compliance as built-in, not bolted on.
- You can take a vague idea, work with stakeholders, and turn it into a scalable GCP solution.
- You’re not afraid of logs, errors, or broken pipelines—you debug with confidence.
- You love collaborating, but you're also self motivated enough to own your scope end-to-end.
Google Cloud Engineer Responsibilities
- Support GCP Infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain Terraform and its modules for GCP infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure cloud resources meet data processing, security, and scalability requirements.
- Work closely with the Security team to ensure all infrastructure and services are compliant with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and optimize GCP costs, implementing guardrails and usage patterns to keep spending under control.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Enable observability and monitoring across services (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and custom alerts).
- Ensure GCP projects follow IAM best practices, cost optimization, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot issues and lead performance improvements across the platform.
