Epic Inpatient Consultant - REMOTE
We are seeking a highly experienced Epic Inpatient Consultant to join the core implementation team responsible for embedding AI-generated insights directly into real-time clinical workflows. This role will ensure that predictive risk scores, alerts, and evidence-based recommendations are seamlessly integrated into Epic without increasing documentation burden or contributing to alert fatigue.
Required Qualifications

Epic certification in ClinDoc, Orders, or ASAP

5+ years of Epic build and implementation experience in a large, complex health system

Strong experience designing and deploying clinical decision support tools

Demonstrated ability to balance clinical safety, workflow efficiency, and provider experience
Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating third-party AI, predictive analytics, or decision support tools into Epic
- Background in inpatient workflow redesign and CDS governance
- Familiarity with risk stratification models and predictive alert optimization strategies

Epic Build & Workflow Optimization

Configure and optimize Epic ClinDoc documentation templates to support structured data capture required for AI model performance

Build and enhance SmartForms, SmartTexts, and SmartSets to align AI-driven insights with provider documentation and ordering workflows

Design and refine Best Practice Advisories (BPAs) to deliver predictive alerts and recommendations at clinically appropriate points of care

Configure and maintain Order Composer functionality to translate AI-informed recommendations into efficient, evidence-based ordering behavior

Develop and optimize navigators and clinical documentation workflows to embed decision support tools seamlessly

Ensure CDS integration minimizes alert fatigue and preserves provider efficiency
