CERTIFIED EPIC OPTIME CONSULTANT | REMOTE (EST)
The Select Group is looking for a talented Certified Epic OpTime Consultant to join one of our top healthcare partners. You’d support the creation and implementation of new operating room charge levels (Levels 1-6). This effort includes configuring charge logic, preserving historical billing integrity, and coordinating charge changes alongside active initiatives to open new Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). You’ll work closely with perioperative, revenue cycle, and IT stakeholders to ensure accurate charging, compliance, and minimal operational disruption.

CERTIFIED EPIC OPTIME CONSULTANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Active and current Epic OpTime certification
  • Proven experience with operating room charging and perioperative charge build
  • Strong understanding of CPT codes, procedure codes, and charge groupers
  • Experience creating and maintaining charge rules and default charge settings
  • Experience updating and managing charge profiles
  • Strong experience with charge testing, including end-to-end and regression testing
  • Knowledge of historical charge preservation to support rebills and audits
  • Strong coordination and communication skills across clinical, financial, and IT teams
  • Experience supporting ASC openings or expansions
  • Familiarity with perioperative workflows and surgical services operations
  • Experience working within a formal change management or governance framework
  • Bonus skill: Additional Epic certifications (core clinical) are valuable as this team has other initiatives in flight as part of larger capital projects across the enterprise

CERTIFIED EPIC OPTIME CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and build new OR charging Levels 1–6 using procedure codes and/or groupers 
  • Configure charge rules, default charge settings, and profiles 
  • Perform and coordinate comprehensive charge testing to ensure billing accuracy 
  • Preserve and validate historical charge data to support rebilling and audit needs 
  • Update and document processes related to annual CPT maintenance 
  • Coordinate charge builds and testing activities with active ASC opening projects 
  • Collaborate with perioperative leadership, revenue cycle, finance, and IT teams to ensure successful implementation
