Lab Network Engineer

The Select Group is Seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a top client in Chicago IL, this Network Engineer will provide Network Services within the clients Lab Environment. They will be configuring routers, configuring switches, and assisting in the design of the new layout of the lab. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of our development lab to ensure maximum uptime for users. This will include documenting and managing the installation of a new network and maintaining and upgrading existing systems, provide support to take system specifications from paper to a fully functional system with the ability to do what the system was designed to do, then continue to support that system through its whole life cycle. Skills:

• 8-9+ years of hands on exp configuring r/s (cisco & palo alto)  
• Experience with network equipment testing, configuration and installation of devices before shipping to customers
• Partnering with other Network Engineers and Firewall Engineers within the Production Environment to help connect labs to the production network during testing.
• LAN/WAN
• Experience with Firewalls
• Experience with IP structures and how to layout connectivity
• Proficient in network equipment configuration and installation (VPN and Remote Access)
• LAN and WAN experience
• Experience getting routers, switches, and server activity prepped and ready for field deployment

• CCNA
• CCDP
• CCIE

• Providing network services within lab environment
• Configuring Routers, Switches, and assisting with designing the new layout of the lab
• Partnering with other Network Engineers and Firewall Engineers within the Production Environment to help connect labs to the production network during testing
• Laying out connectivity for internal labs between one lab room and the other.
• Working with Firewalls and different components within Intelsat’s internal network.
• Setting up and configuring VPN’s.
• Creating accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
• Implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
