Intermediate GCP Data Engineer
We are seeking an Intermediate-level GCP Data Engineer to support a digital transformation initiative for our Canadian client. In this role, you will assist in migrating critical SAS-based reporting workflows to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your responsibilities will include developing GCP-native data pipelines, validating migrated data for accuracy and completeness, and ensuring a smooth handover to internal teams.

Intermediate GCP Data Engineer Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with hands-on exposure to GCP.
• Familiarity with BigQuery, Dataflow, and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer).
• Basic experience reading or converting SAS code is a strong asset.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data processing and validation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in distributed teams.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative within a fast-paced project.

Intermediate GCP Data Engineer Responsibilities
• Support the documentation and reverse engineering of legacy SAS workflows.
• Assist in the development of data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer (or equivalent).
• Collaborate on the migration of historical SQL Server data into GCP.
• Participate in parallel testing with SAS processes to ensure data accuracy.
• Work closely with senior engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tested outcomes.
• Contribute to the final documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing  team ownership.
