Job Title: Cost Controller (Substation)

Location:

  • Must Have Skills (please list 3-5 top skills in order of priority):
  • SAP experience 
  • 5+ years of Cost Engineering/Estimating/Controlling experience 
  • Ideally in a utility, communication or construction setting 
  • Ability to create estimations and financial forecasts for multiple projects at a time 
  • Capital Project experience working with large budgets 
  • Building costs control processes systems to track and identify project costs and unbilled liabilities 
  • Ability to communicate financial reporting and scheduling to upper management and project managers

  • Looking for someone who is flexible - this PMO is being built from the ground up and they are still figuring out processes, tools and procedures. Looking for someone who is not rigid, and who can adapt to change

    Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Project Management, Construction Management, Operation Management, Supply Chain Management, or applicable required


    Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Track and identify project costs and unbilled liabilities within company-identified tools and systems such as SAP, asset management systems and scheduling systems 
  • Present budget and schedule updates/concerns to the team and upper management 
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure the project is controlling costs 
  • Prepare cost reports and schedule updates for monthly cost management presentations 
  • Assist in the conversion of cost estimations into company-identified tools and systems 
  • Pull financials and data from SAP to prepare project presentations for upper management, the Project Governance Control board, or other views as required 
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial reporting and scheduling to upper management and board members 
  • Any technology build or used will be expected to communicate with in-place CEHE systems. These systems include but are not limited to the following: SAP, Microsoft Products, and the AIS tool 
  • Experience in Construction and/or Utilities industry 
  • Bachelors Degree (ideally in Construction, Engineering, Business or Accounting) or relevant experience
  • Primavera P6, and/or other similar tool experience (Microsoft Dynamics preferred!)
  • Ability to pull project financials, estimations, invoices, and project checkbooks within SAP and other PMO designated tools
  • Ability to pull job packages, review work orders and work with the Project Manager to pull reports and navigate through SAP and other PMO designated tools 
  • Ability to analyze and spot check schedules that align with project forecasts
