The Select Group is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support one of our top banking clients! This BSA will support technology and business initiatives focused on data center hosting, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence within a regulated banking environment.
This role bridges business needs and technical solutions, ensuring clear requirements, effective collaboration, and successful delivery of infrastructure-related projects.
Role: Business Systems Analyst
Duration: 12 months (open to 2nd year extension)
Location: Remote (requires EST hours)
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in technology, infrastructure, or data center–related initiatives.
- Banking/Financial Services Experience
• Working knowledge of data center hosting concepts:
• Compute, storage, networking, virtualization
• On-prem hosting vs. cloud/on-prem hybrid architecture
Nice to Have Skills:
• Experience with data center migrations or application hosting transformations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) or hybrid hosting solutions.
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks impacting IT and banking.
• Knowledge of ITIL or service management practices
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
• Partner with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and project managers to elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements related to data center hosting, migration, capacity planning, and operational resiliency.
• Perform gap analyses across systems, processes, and workflows to recommend improvements and efficiencies.
Project & Technical Support
• Support initiatives involving data center hosting strategy, application migrations, infrastructure upgrades, virtualization, cloud readiness, and backup/DR planning.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to understand data center components (compute, storage, network, virtualization, monitoring tools).
• Assist in defining acceptance criteria, test cases, and validation steps for infrastructure and hosting changes.
• Participate in UAT, operational readiness assessments, and runbook development.
Business & Banking Domain Expertise
• Apply knowledge of banking operations, regulatory expectations, and risk management frameworks.
• Support projects impacting core banking, financial systems, secure data handling, fraud/risk systems, and operational compliance.
• Analyze impacts of infrastructure changes on dependent banking applications and business processes.
Documentation & Communication
• Develop and maintain project documentation including BRDs, process flows, data flow diagrams, runbooks, and reporting.
• Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure alignment on technical requirements and business outcomes across engineering and business teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including PMO, IT Infrastructure, Application Owners, Security, Governance, and external vendors.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working sessions to drive clarity and alignment.
