Lead Developer (P&BB Products API Team)
Contract: 6 months
Location: Toronto — Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week
Seniority: 5+ years total dev experience, 1+ year in a lead/mentorship role
Start: Jan 15
Team: P&BB Products API Team - dedicated to delivering API services for lending and EDB platforms.

Overall Responsibilities:
· Lead the design and development of critical technology functions across multiple business units, ensuring product quality, performance, and UI/UX.
· Analyze the impact of design decisions on the computer solution/product/service being developed and recommend alternative solutions for optimization if required.
· Collaborate with stakeholders from various areas of the business to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of both the business and end-customers.
· Assess the costs and benefits of different solutions and recommend/decide on appropriate designs.
· Build solutions that are supportable, scalable, and achieve our aspiration of common assets.
· Proactively identify and resolve production issues, including completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis independently.
· Strengthen the development capability of the team by sharing expertise, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks, and staying abreast of industry technical and business trends through individual learning and participation in professional associations and practice communities.

Desired Skills and Experience:
· A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
· Strong programming skills with hands-on experience designing and implementing high volume, high availability applications with a very high degree of automation.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving common goals.
· Experience in evaluating trade-offs and making constructive calls with other teams while balancing perfection and compromise.
· Technical proficiency in the required programming languages, frameworks and technologies, including JavaScript, Typescript, AWS SDK, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, API Gateway.
· An in-depth level of understanding with software development principles
