Cost and Schedule Management Systems Support a Utility Company’s PMO
A California utility company modernizing their technology was in the process of building out their Project Management Office (PMO) while carrying out a large-scale implementation. However,
without common cost control and scheduling management systems in place, the client struggled with manual processes, inconsistent business practices, a lack of data governance, disparate systems, and a reliance on spreadsheets. The utility client needed a holistic system and solution to be utilized by all business units so that as a large project moves towards completion, it is contained in one centralized place.
Using Oracle Primavera Unifier architecture, TSG guided the client towards next-generation cost control and management. After developing the technology roadmap and system architecture for the integration, we drove the project’s execution. Utilizing tools such as Primavera P6 scheduling, ERP systems, assessment management, workforce management, and cost control tools, TSG supported the full lifecycle of the project. This required tight-knit departmental cross-collaboration in the client’s organization to integrate their disparate systems, tools, data, and people into one integrated cost and management system. Driving efficiency and visibility on project status and ownership, the client gained connectivity and visualization between the various tools in their new PMO.
