Data Science Meet-up: An Introduction to K-nearest Neighbor

Join us Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. at our TSG headquarters for a talk that will cover the theory, mechanics, and nuances of building a data science experiment using k-nearest neighbor (k-NN). This event is taking place in partnership with the Triangle SQL User Group (TriPASS), an active group of SQL Server professionals who meet monthly for formal presentations on many SQL Server topics: everything from database design, development, deployment, performance, and IT support. Presenter Jamie Dixon has been writing code for as long as he can remember and has been getting paid to do it since 1995. He has a passion for discovering overlooked gems in data sets and merging software engineering techniques to scientific computing. Dixon is also author of “Mastering .NET Machine Learning.”
