This Financial Business Analyst will serve as the lead Financial Analyst for the Emission
Strategy Program, acting as the POC for a Team of 20 and the liaison between the program and the central finance office for the Natural Gas Utility. They’ll be responsible for supporting a budget of over $300 Million with many ongoing projects.

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the finances of the department
  • Serves as a financial expert and resource for the department
  • Prepares and posts journal entries and accruals
  • Manages program internal order hierarchy
  • Helps respond to data requests and inquiries from the CPUC
  • File advice letters and support the General Rate Case process with the CPUC
  • Track project budgets and help keep them on track through collaboration with the project management team

This key role is responsible for overseeing natural gas infrastructure assets, bridging the gap between safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The Investment Owner will work cross-functionally to collect, analyze, and interpret critical asset data to drive data-driven decisions for portfolio management and investment prioritization.

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and assess the risk profile of natural gas assets, including pipelines, storage facilities, compressor stations, and other related infrastructure.
  • Lead efforts in data collection and analysis, ensuring accurate and actionable insights on asset condition, performance, and lifecycle risk.
  • Analyze financial data related to the natural gas asset portfolio, including maintenance costs, replacement costs, and overall capital expenditure trends.
  • Provide financial insights to help guide decision-making on asset maintenance, replacement, or upgrades based on risk and cost analysis.
  • Partner with various teams across the organization, such as operations, engineering, safety, compliance, and finance, to ensure that asset management decisions are informed by both operational data and financial imperatives.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to align on asset performance and investment priorities.
  • Help prioritize asset investments based on risk factors (e.g., likelihood of failure, safety impact), financial considerations, and regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Use data and predictive analytics to forecast future investment needs and risks associated with the portfolio.
  • Ensure all investment decisions are made with safety and regulatory compliance as top priorities.
  • Generate clear, concise reports and dashboards that communicate the status, risk, and financial health of the asset portfolio to stakeholders.

SYSTEMS ENGINEER – CHEYENNE, WY.
The Select Group is looking to bring on a System Engineer to join one of our top clients in the Communications space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux, Kubernetes, and experience in automation through scripting. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and promptly addressing priority tickets. This resource will be working a 4x10 schedule from 6am-4pm Wednesday - Saturday onsite in Cheyenne, WY. (Saturday is WFH). If this is something you are interested in, please apply today!

SYSTEMS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of professional experience, ideally within an enterprise environment supporting high volumes of tickets and incidences and resolving T1-T3 tickets
  • Platform Support specifically within Linux is primary focus
  • Scripting knowledge is helpful: Shell Scripting, Python Scripting, PowerShell Scripting
  • Tracking tickets within JIRA and updating completion/documentation as needed
  • Kubernetes experience 

SYSTEMS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Set up and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure system performance and uptime. Analyze system logs and metrics to identify trends and potential issues. Conduct performance tuning of both servers and Kubernetes clusters for optimal resource utilization.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of applications. Participate in team meetings, sharing insights on system performance and improvement opportunities. Provide training and support to team members on DevOps best practices.

The Select Group is looking for a DataOps Engineer for one of their top Telecommunication clients. This is going to be a long term contract located in Cheyenne, WY.

DataOps Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree; four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years experience in data streaming technologies, such as Kafka
