System Administrator
System Administrator – Santa Clara, CA
One of The Select Group’s clients is looking for a System Administrator in Santa Clara, CA. It will be 70% Windows/Active Directory and on-prem data center support, and 30% day to day operational support such as tickets and on-call rotation. The position is mainly remote, and it is a long-term opportunity to work with a great client!
***We are only able to work with this client on a W2 basis.
Must Have Skills:
- 10 years experience
- Windows System Administration experience (Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS) scaling, multi-environment design, enhancement, security, vulnerability management, CISA recommendations
- GPO 2012-2022 experience required
- Senior level expertise in Active Directory
- Experience supporting on-prem data center administration and infrastructure such as VMWARE, storage, NAS, SAN, physical layers, vCenter/ESXi HA Cluster, etc..
- Scripting/automation in PowerShell/Bash
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Install and configure new equipment for Data Centers, from the rack and stacking to cabling, and set up remote management to ensure remote support is enabled
- Preventative maintenance of data center equipment and devices, perform routine checks inside Data Centers
- Analyze servers and storage systems to identify and initiate repair
- Monitoring systems, to ensure systems and applications uptime via SNMPv2,3, WMI, Agent, and auto-discovery
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge/document
- Perform regular backup operations, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- LifeCycle management to maintain up-to-date software installation/updates, security patches, and hardware firmware maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows servers environment from versions 2012/2016/2019/2022
- Apply Windows OS Patches, Remediate Windows Vulnerabilities, application troubleshooting
- Support VMWare 6.5/6.7and 7.0 in the cluster environment
- Managing and maintaining NAS/SAN infrastructure, including RAID, LUN, Block, snapshot, NFS, iSCSI, and Replication experience
- Managing and maintaining a cloud infrastructure including AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Linux OS administration – Ubuntu, Centos, and RedHat
- Active Directory administration – CA, GPO, EventLog Audit, IIS, LDAP, PowerShell
- Experience with network troubleshooting skills – DNS/DHCP/VLAN/Trunk/Firewall
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Must be available for on-call support
- Experience with working with international team members
