Medical Device Security Engineer
100% Remote Medical Device Security Engineer:
The Select Group is looking to hire a fully remote Medical Device Security Engineer to join the team at one of our largest healthcare clients. This person will be responsible for risk assessment, vulnerability management, and all medical device security. The ideal candidate will have experience with tenable and have an understanding of FDA guidelines and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- 5+ years’ experience with Medical Device Security Engineering
- We are looking for a security professional who has experience securing and preventing medical devices throughout the health system from security vulnerabilities.
- Looking for experience on how to secure vulnerabilities throughout the health system using FDA guidelines and best practices. FDA regulates the sale of medical device products in the US
- 4-5+ years of experience with security Vulnerability Management
- This resource will be working cross functionally with other business units and other parts of information security in order to identify vulnerabilities in the environment.
- Looking for someone specifically that uses Tenable vulnerability mgmt. platform.
- Any experience with network security, networking on Microsoft security
Requirements:
- Risk assessment of medical devices with IT implications (includes both existing and proposed devices).
- Conducts strategic planning around risk mitigation strategies.
- Develops and deploys related policies.
- Understands current IT standards.
- Acts as the organization’s subject matter expert on medical device cybersecurity.
- Deploys hardware and software-based IT risk mitigation strategies (includes but isn’t limited to operating system patches, antivirus clients, and network segmentation).
- Follows change management policies.
- Delivers appropriate service levels to customers.
- Provides application support.
- Responds ad hoc to urgent incidents and fully represents Clinical Engineering in such incidents.
- Escalates incidents and issues to management as needed.
- Manage relationships between Security Engineering and multiple IS groups including but not limited to Clinical Engineering, Desktop Support, and Network.
- Facilitates effective cross-communication and ongoing collaboration.
- Manages medical device IT related projects and incidents.
- Determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep the project on track and on schedule.
- Communicates clear instructions to team members.
- Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team’s progress.
