Project Info: 

  • The design system team conducts internal audits, user research, and competitor analysis to build scalable components used by designers across the bank
  • The Design System is used by 40+ teams across the bank.

The successful candidate will : 

  • Own design strategy and delivery (research, journey mapping, workshops, wireframing, prototyping and testing, pixel-perfect visual design delivery) of our design system components
  • Support designers across the bank building industry-leading digital experiences
  • Use a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research and best practices to inform design decisions
  • Pair and collaborate with other designers by sharing best practices, ideation techniques, and usability principles
  • Promote and practice open communication and contribute to a transparent and collaborative team culture
  • Have a strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standard, including WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, and WCAG 2.2

Interview Process: Two Interviews, 30-60 minutes each

Location: Hybrid (2 day per week in the office - Monday and Thursday)

Hours: 37.5 

Contract: to Oct 31 (then renewal based on performance)

Additional info for the candidates

You’ll be responsible for designing, documenting and governing our design system components. You’ll also collaborate with designers, content strategists, accessibility experts, and developers as we grow and mature our design system and documentation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Participate in the evolution and maintenance of the design system
  • File structure, component governance and builds inside our design system
  • Document design patterns in Zeroheight
  • Collaborate with designers from different lines of business as well as project teams
  • Create interaction pattern specifications and guidelines of use for the design system components
  • Conduct reviews, user research, industry research and align to established patterns and standards
  • Incorporate accessible design principles

You’ll be a great fit if you

  • You’re a Figma Ninja, highly adept in the tool – from design to prototyping, especially in component building and setting up templates
  • Keep up to-date with design tools and their feature updates
  • Are a curious thinker with innovative ideas
  • Have a passion for delivering market-leading digital customer experiences
  • Are familiar with lean / agile design practices, and working across the project life cycle within cross-functional teams
  • Adapt quickly when faced with ad-hoc projects
  • Thrive in a fun, fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Have experience with using front end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and collaborating with developers

What you’ll bring to the table

  • 3-5 years design experience
  • Experience working on design systems, design patterns, and documentation
  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma and Zeroheight
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices, user-centered design, design thinking, and accessible design
  • Have a working knowledge of responsive design and understand the technical constraints
  • Great organization and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and strive for pixel perfect design delivery
  • Illustration, interaction and motion design skills are a plus
