Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Routing and Switching Network Consulting Engineer (R/S NCE) to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Cisco Routing and Switching platforms, Nexus Data Center technologies, and be comfortable working in complex enterprise networking environments.

This role involves providing technical leadership and trusted advisory services to customers, delivering on-site engagements, and solving complex networking problems while advocating for the customer’s best interests.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for the customer, building strong relationships and ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Act as the focal point for resolving highly complex network problems.
  • Design and deploy advanced network architecture solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and diagnosis of complex networking designs.
  • Provide design recommendations, integrating new features and applications.
  • Collaborate across functions with customers, internal teams, and partners to achieve significant results.
  • Present technical recommendations and solutions to senior leadership teams.
  • Travel to customer sites within the DC/VA area as needed to deliver engagements.

Must-Have Skills

  • Routing and Switching Expertise: Proficiency in R/S protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LAN Switching, Multicast, Route Redistribution).
  • Cisco Platforms: Experience with Nexus 7K, 9K, 2K, and Catalyst platforms.
  • Certifications:
    • CCNP is required.
    • CCIE certification or equivalent level of experience is highly preferred.
  • Design & Troubleshooting:
    • Proven experience in complex enterprise networking environments.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills in resolving intricate networking scenarios.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Skilled in presenting technical designs and recommendations to senior leadership.
    • Collaborative and results-driven approach to client engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data center networking technologies and Nexus platforms.
  • Strong understanding of MPLS, IP Routing, and LAN Switching.
  • Experience in environments that integrate multiple technologies and platforms.
