VOIP ENGINEER
The Select Group is current hiring for a VoIP Engineer to join as a resource for one of our clients within the Telecommunications industry that will be working hybrid (2 days a week onsite) in Dallas, TX. This Engineer will join the Maintenance Engineering team because the client is developing new products and services for its commercial customers existing service, therefore they are adding to their robust lab environment to support VoIP technologies being adopted by customers. This role will be instrumental in providing guidance and input regarding network design and implementation best practices. As a Subject Matter Expert, this Engineer will take lead on Session Border Controllers serving Carrier VoIP trunking service providers. VOIP ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least 8-10 years of Voice Engineering/VoIP Engineering experience within a professional setting ideally enterprise level but mid-market level companies are accepted as well
  • At least 5 years of hands on experience with Oracle SBC - Experience in providing in-depth design and technical support of Oracle Communications SBC's
  • Must possesses extensive level knowledge of Oracle Communications SBCs software and hardware collectively and how both co-exist with one another
  • Experience with SIP over TCP and over TLS using mutual authentication
  • Experience with SRTP
 
PLUS SKILLS:
  • Network operation and design experience preferred
  • Oracle SBC Certification(s)
 
VOIP ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead building and executing test plans in a lab operation environment focused on testing VoIP and Voice Communication technologies
  • Create method of procedure documentation for network element updates
  • Support maintenance activities with Tier 2 VOIP team
  • Troubleshoot the network’s design and architecture issues
  • Provide informal workshops to transfer knowledge to engineering, test lab / maintenance (ME), operations and other staff
  • Apply industry best practices towards designing, planning, and implementing in the clients production network
  • Provide periodic written summary/progress reports
  • Test software upgrades to Oracle SBC software to ensure that they are implemented and functioning correctly
  • Analyze current call flows for traffic analysis focused on network performance and reliability
