STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER
A leading tech company's procurement team is seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager to manage vendor engagement across the APAC region. This role focuses on negotiating component prices and terms, managing supply planning, and ensuring long-term supplier relationships and supply chain optimization.
LOCATION: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid onsite Tu-Thu)
DAY TO DAY:
- Vendor Negotiation: Engage with suppliers in APAC to negotiate optimal terms, balancing cost, volume, and quality to meet performance standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the organization to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
- Leadership Communication: Provide insights and key findings to senior leaders to support strategic decision-making.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Utilize cost and capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking to drive improvements in supply chain performance.
- Program Management: Contribute to the development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience in Supply Chain/Sourcing: Solid background in strategic sourcing or supply chain management.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong skills in contract negotiations and managing supplier relationships.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced data analysis skills, with extensive experience using Excel.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, with experience preparing executive-level presentations (Keynote experience required).
- Global Collaboration: Experience in a global environment, working with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to make swift decisions and handle complex issues with limited information.
- Supplier Management: Proven experience managing supplier relations and overseeing operational activities.
PLUS SKILLS:
- Experience with end-to-end contract negotiation, covering both commercial and legal aspects.
- Knowledge of capacity planning.
- Background in SQL and data validation.
DAY TO DAY BREAKDOWN:
- 40% PO Management: Opening/reconciliation, claims, and quote validation.
- 40% Vendor Engagement: Working with vendors and internal operations teams to structure deals, negotiate terms, and manage conditions.
- 20% Escalation Management: Addressing urgent issues and managing real-time escalations.
