Position Title: Disaster Recovery Engineer

Daily Responsibilities:

The Disaster Recovery Engineer I will work with leadership, application and technical teams to document DR processes/procedures across WellStar’s technical environment to ensure that policies, plans, procedures and strategies effectively provide and support a recovery framework for restoration of critical systems and data to meet or exceed established business, client and audit requirements. The role will be the Subject Matter Expert as it pertains to the compute/network environment and its relationship to Disaster Recovery. The role will report to the Data Center Operations Manager and will need to be both functional and technical to collect/document all information for development of a sustainable DR Program across the organization.

1. Disaster Recovery analysis, planning, documentation, and testing: experience building run books for IT components and applications for an enterprise level organization (3,000+ servers, 900+ applications).
2. Developing test plans for DR and communicating with all IT teams: experience working with application owners who may not have a technical background, communication is key to working with all teams and being able to present to leadership
3. Technical understanding of Servers/Network components: ability to be the subject matter expert within the area to gather the accurate requirements to document detailed run books.
