BUSINESS CONTROL ANALYST

The Select Group is partnering with one of our top clients in the banking industry on a Business Control Analyst opportunity! This role will be supporting the integration of testing functions for a recent merger. Note – the role is primarily remote but will require on-site support in Toronto, ON 5% of the time. BUSINESS CONTROL ANALYST – OVERVIEW:

• The Central Testing Utility (CTU) is responsible for the independent testing of internal controls and the remediation of identified issues for internal technology & operations.
• This position will be primarily responsible for supporting the integration of the acquired bank’s testing functions within our client’s CTU.

BUSINESS CONTROL ANALYST – REQUIREMENTS:

• 4-6 years minimum BA experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lead and manage stakeholder conversations.
• Worked within a Control Testing, Audit or Operation Risk environment:

-If you have Audit experience: Must have understanding of the audit life cycle – from planning, initiation, engagement and through to reporting.

-If you have Operational Risk experience: Must understand control libraries and how to translate these into some sort of risk rating.

-If you have Control Testing experience: Must understand the following processes -> internal control testing – what workflows look like vs what CTU workflows look like – Planning, change management, engagement, and reporting at an individual level.

• Metrics -> Internal performance indicators, understanding of how long it takes to test and scope in/scope out, and how to report results.

BUSINESS CONTROL ANALYST – RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mapping the acquired bank’s standards, processes, metrics and organizational structures to CTU current state.
• Supporting the CTU management oversight of acquired bank’s interim testing (e.g., building of key performance & risk metrics, reporting dashboards).
• Contributing towards the development and execution of a detailed integration plan that will align the acquired bank’s testing people and processes with CTU.
• Other responsibilities include supporting internal enhancements lead by the CTU’s Governance & Business Management function.
